It was reckless for sure...deserved it. Hope Carlo is back soon.
Regardless, NHL has became such a wussy game lately, the league is so soft.
Not sure if you can call it a hockey anymore

this post is very timely a couple of days after Mark Pavelich dies from repeatedly taking head shots in his playing days

That has nothing to do with. Hits and such are part of the game, clean hits.
You obviously never played a game.

“Can’t even call it hockey anymore”....why? Cuz there aren’t as many flying-elbows to the heads of unsuspecting opponents as there was 20-30 years ago? That’s “hockey” ? Lol....

So the game just isn’t the same unless guys are allowed to assault opponents and leave them unconscious and concussed? Needing help off the ice and immediate medical attention? You find that sort of thing entertaining?

Why does the game need that element? What does it do to enhance the viewing experience?

The sport is already fast and physical enough as is. You don’t need to be intentionally targeting guys and lining them up for head shots. Like c’mon...

Plenty of hits and exchanges that occur naturally as players battle for pucks. The additional, premeditated “I’m not even looking for the puck, I’m just trying to cause damage and make a statement” type of BS has zero place in any sport. It’s assault.

Hockey isn’t necessarily about the hitting.
That way of thinking is incredibly out dated and ancient. Just because it’s “how it was” doesn’t mean it’s right now.
There is absolutely no need for this type of play in hockey. It’s clear that after several years of attempting to injure players this player has no remorse, or any willingness to change his style of play.
This sort of player needs to be removed from the game of hockey all together.
If you want to watch needless hitting watch ufc. At least there the contestants are aware of what’s going to happen, not “sucker punched”

you obviously don't understand that the league has gotten "soft" as you put it to lessen brain injuries

there have actually been lawsuits about this

repeatedly this short season, and I noticed it in games against the Rangers, Wilson is out there trying to injure people, he is, its an absolute fact, particularly some of his center ice hits

the object is to injure people and he loves doing it when the player he is hunting is engaged with another player

Post them all from this year. No need to post the Jankowski hit. Post them all here. I have about 20 hits from this year that were not suspended that were pretty much all head shots.

It's a hit the league wants out, it's a hit Wilson should have avoided. But Wilson gets 7 games for it, while other players get nothing. It is what it is.

Ummmmm I’m gonna go out on a limb and say his history as a repeat offender has something to do with him getting more games/harsher punishment than others. But what do I know...

He's not a repeat offender by the rules.

The NHL changed precedent on this suspension. It's fine. It was always going to be Wilson.

Should have gotten 10 games at a minimum. But regardless of how many times or how many games, this guy will never learn.

I don't know what to tell you.
Your boy is a remorseless thug.
If you think the suspension is due to some vendetta against poor Tom Wilson you are willfully ignorant.

No, bud. That only refers to fines, not games suspended. I thought the same thing.
